It is great pleasure to present before you the annual report of Library for the academic year-2013-14. Library is the “Temple of Knowledge”. It plays vital role not only in technical knowledge development but also satisfies the reader’s thirst related to life skill enhancement. Our library is advanced by the use of library automation software named “e-Lib”, which helps our students & staff members to search any type of library material within fraction of second. For this; we have completed Bar-Coding of all available reading digests. This material is classified on Dewey decimal classification [DDC] technique. AGPPI is member of “Developing Library Network [DELNET] / Inter Library Loan”. The DELNET is a network of 4500 libraries in 32 states which gives access for more than 1crore & 50 lacs bibliographic record through online system. It has already created the union catalogue of Books, Periodicals, E-Books, E-Journals, CD ROM, database, Multimedia etc. Department wise Book record

Library Service:
The Library is having collection of 15796 books. Daily 200 books are in circulation. Each student can borrow two books per week. Apart from the text books we have very good collection of Marathi and English literature books. These books can be borrowed on the borrower card for the period of 07 days. 2. Special Collection for SC/ST Students[ SC Book Bank]: The library is receiving grants from the Social Welfare Department of Govt. of Maharashtra for the SC/ST students’ book-bank scheme. Semester wise eligible students can apply for books under this scheme, free of cost. As per students demand we can also provide two extra reference books.
The book bank facility is available for all regular students. Under this scheme; a set of books is issued to the student’s for a whole semester. At the end of the semester the students has to return all the books. The books of this scheme are issued in the first week of every new semester. As per the library rules the fine will be imposed on late return of the books. This scheme is very beneficial for the students, which saves time and money of the students. From this scheme students can borrow extra reference books of their choice.
The reference sources provide current information on a wide range of subjects. The Library maintains a separate collection of reference books [Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbook, Data books, CD ROMs, AV materials etc.] These books are arranged in separate sections. The books of this section are to be not issued for home reading and are to be consulted in the library premises only.
The library offers photocopying / Xerox services to all its members, users and others with reasonable charge of 50 paisa per page with the help of private vendor who is permitted to operate in college premises only between 9.30 am to 6.00 pm.
The library receives 33 Periodical in prints. The library holds 85 bound volumes of periodical till date. The volume of back journals has kept in separate section. They can be consulted in the library premises, however if these are required for home reading then these can be issued for a smaller duration of three days to faculty members only. A number of complimentary copies are also received by the library.
There is big and specious area for all the students & staff members. There is separate section of girls & boys. All over seating capacity is 250 for the students & staff.
There are 20 computers available to connect with internet & 30 students can surf easily, e- books, e- journals & CD/ DVD etc. We have member of DELNET using for E-Book & E-Journals searching easily.
Our library is computerized .These systems are useful for the students & staff for searching the books. Whenever students want any book he can easily search in OPAC system.
